1. The first thing to remember about miracles is that there is no order of difficulty among them. One is not harder or bigger than another. They are all the same.

(*One of the biggest things that I learned when I read ACIM and that shifted so many things in my life, was found in this first statement. I had taught many classes on repentance and had gone through the process for big and little sins for many years. To me the miracle of accepting the truth about who we are as “thoughts of Christ”, which to me was an hallucination about the fact that He had separated from God, was the same. So what it said to me was there is no order of difficulty among sins or discretions or separation. In other words, it made the playing field of humanity equal in all ways. No such thing as a big sin or a little sin. Just one huge misunderstanding…that The Son could be separate from The Father. Now, I did not get that with the first reading of this sentence, but I do remember this awareness dawning on me as I went through the book.)

2. Miracles do not matter. They are quite unimportant.

(*And why would they be unimportant, the miracles I mean? Because they are correcting something that was only “thought” to have happened. Meaning the separation of The Son from The Father never occurred. Thus the miracles themselves would be unimportant, no?)

3. They occur naturally as an expression of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense, everything that comes from love is a miracle.

(*Be careful in defining love here. As ego’s love lives off of guilt and fear, whereas in the Holy Instant Father’s desire for His Son is the Love acknowledged.)

a. This explains the first point related to the lack of order. All expressions of love are maximal.

(*No hierarchy whatsoever, all expressions of “real love” are equal.)

b. This is why the “thing in itself” does not matter. The only thing that matters is the Source, and this is far beyond human evaluation.

(*The “thing in itself” is manifested in the dream or illusion. What is important is that the truth be acknowledged and that comes from Source -or God, Heavenly Father, The Father of Christ, whatever you wish to call Him/It/ Her. The power or energy that created The Son or essence of you and me.)

(Q and A re first 3 points.) Q (HS) Would you require regard this communication as a kind of miracle? A. There is nothing special or surprising about this at all.

(*I take this question from Helen (HS) to be questioning her ability to engage in this conversation with Jesus. You see the answer there. Bear in mind, that he communicated with her through her thoughts. I believe this is very insightful and says a lot about true communication and that the way we currently communicate through words is very primitive or limited.)

The ONE thing that happened was the Universal Miracle which was the experience of intense love you have felt. (Don’t get embarrassed by the idea of love. Embarrassment is only a form of fear, and actually a particularly dangerous form because it reflects egocentricity.

(*Helen, Bill, and Ken had a lot of exposure to the thought and energy of romantic love according to the histories that I have read in their published histories.
Embarrassment would come from such realities. I do believe that true love has within its makeup a sensual or titillating component that can be confusing to humanity. I have reason for this supposition that I will not go into at the moment. But I state it here for clarification. Ken spoke of this matter quite a bit in the autobiographical work he did on HS.)

(*Just listen to Jesus’ words as he speaks to her.)

Do not feel guilty about the fact that you are doubting this. Just re-read them and their truth will come to you. I love you, and I am not afraid or embarrassed or doubtful. MY strength will support you, so don’t worry and leave the rest to me. But when you see B., be sure you tell him how much he helped you thru by giving you the right message, and don’t bother with worrying about how you received it. That doesn’t matter either. You were just afraid.) (HS fearful in taxi about a communication which related Dave’s healing and Jonathan’s hernia. She thought it would be safer to dissociate the two. Instructions were: refer to point 1 and re-read NOW.)

(*Which is to say dissociation is not required because all miracles are equal. So whatever disharmonious occurrence created the hernia’s in each man the recognition of the miracle would take care of both completely regardless of any human judgement of disparity between the two.)

(*As you read please consider how it resonates with you. What does it say to you? Your inner voice is needed for yourself and for the rest of us.
