1. Depression
I was taught by SPIRIT years ago that depression is one of the three temptations facing humanity, and given to Jesus after his fast of forty days and forty nights.
Today I understand it is because of the belief that there is a separation from God which Jesus states in the Urtext of A Course in Miracles.
(Disclaimer: That said, I am not a therapist and am not speaking about chemical or physiological imbalances. I am speaking of my personal studies, observations, and experiences.)
I can tell you that I know the JOY and PEACE that comes ONLY from the acceptance of the Atoning forgiveness of the original error which frees the mind from belief in separation from God, sees Christ as all of creation, and recognizes Father’s Guidance through SPIRIT within each of us, ensuring a personal connection as we walk one step at a time.
I still get sad because the stories we tell ourselves of separation can be very sad, but I am no longer threatened by hopelessness, apathy, or terror.
Even if my story were to place me in a natural or criminal “disaster,” I would have an untouchable witness that it is a dream and not real because of the strength of SPIRIT’s testimony that GOD IS within my consciousness.
Happiness is also a part of my inner world because I KNOW that everyone will be allowed to have this witness for themselves ~ when they are willing and ready to receive it.
Now, that does not mean that everyone will receive it in this lifetime. They may have a “role” to play here that does not include that right now. We are not singular, even though we are individuals.
We are part of a Plan of Redemption for the Whole Sonship that Father had prepared before it was EVER needed.
Each “role” is distinct and affects many; the Atonement we each partake of resonates in the Whole.
But some of us are catalysts to bring others to the place where we are willing to go inside and feel the Presence of God for themselves, and it can take drastic or very placid roles to bring this about. What I am trying to say is if they recalled the fullness of the Atonement now, it might interfere with their role for the ones they can reach.
I am not sure if that was clear, so just step over it if it does not make sense right now, thanks.

2. Shove off the cloak of guilt and shame from your shoulders, and that of others. See what you did that wasn’t healthy or kind, correct it if you can, and pay it forward if you can’t.
The forgiveness that you put forth in the Atonement allows this.
When you release the guilt will depend on you and SPIRIT, but when you do, you will be able to feel it energetically because that is a heavy weight.
Do not take this to suggest, or insinuate, that people do not need to be held accountable to those they have harmed and prosecuted to the extent of the laws established through common sense, and a respect for the One Original Universal Creator of us all.

3. “Body Identity” is where idols come from.
When we see the body as a replacement for God and give the body, your own or another’s, attention that should be going to God, we create an “IDOL.” A foreign “God-Replacement” that has no authority; it is a figment of our imagination.
This “body” can take the form of the human body; it can also be an idea, a situation, a tragedy, or a group of any combination thereof.
Bear in mind that your “physical” body IS something that deserves appropriate attention and gratification.
The enjoyment of its many senses is NOT offensive to our Heavenly Father. And Heaven is not bereft of sensory perception.
I am experiencing a revival of attention to my body because I am seeing it as God’s Vessel and not solely as a vehicle for others to cast darts at.
I allowed confusion and a desire to “not harm others,” combined with the belief that I deserved to “treat myself,” to justify overindulging in food. This ultimately led me into obesity (since 2006), as I focused on matters of the mind and soul.
Staying alive, learning to accept my existence, and ~ through the Atonement ~ coming to understand that I could never be apart from anyone, even when I needed to physically remove myself.
In standing up against the trickery of the mind without God’s complete guidance and allowing God to “literally” take over my life, He has given me “body care” as an assignment that I am not to ignore. I am grateful.
I would have used this to undo any of the entanglements I may have had by indulging in addictions that I have known to have in this lifetime. One might say that this was the least harmful to society at large.

4. Jesus, the first thought of Christ, and therefore the first soul, and the one who thought separation possible.
Humanity likes to point fingers and needs to have a scapegoat, but let me tell ya, Jesus has done everything in his power to turn that around and continues to do so.
He was redeemed immediately, but not before creation had gone into a dream state rooted in the idea that separation from God was possible.
The Atonement, which Father prepared before it was needed, clears this up since it FORGIVES THE ORIGINAL ERROR AND SETS THE SON’S MIND FREE FROM BELIEF IN SEPARATION FROM FATHER, EVEN FOR A MOMENT.
This does not make Jesus ANY LESS of a loyal guide and elder brother into the Atonement and back to the awareness of Father. It DOES mean that Jesus is INCLUDED in that which we forgive, as he states in the Urtext of ACIM.
Forgiveness, as Jesus truly taught it, clears all of the illusion from your belief system and allows you to see Father and the Son, Whole, Complete, United, and Inseparable.
Again, Jesus, as our elder brother, is included in the forgiveness that we give the “original error” where the Son of God forgot to laugh at the idea that Father and Son might be separated.

There is nothing that we will not be able to accomplish with the witness of God, the Father and His Son before us, and Father’s Guidance through SPIRIT while we move forward, free to make mistakes AND to clear them up in short order by placing God’s Will and Love before us continually.
Till next time, God Bless, debi.
