My thoughts* on A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 59, God is Everywhere, Always

God goes with me wherever I go.

The following ideas are for review today:

1. (41) God goes with me wherever I go.

* Always.

²How can I be alone when God always goes with me?

* This means that all that is travels with me as well, including the loved ones and the ones that I might have previously thought of as “enemies.”

³How can I be doubtful and unsure of myself when perfect certainty abides in Him?

* There is a confidence that comes with remembering God. Scriptures speak of this also.

⁴How can I be disturbed by anything when He rests in me in absolute peace?

* Wow! I hadn’t remembered it being phrased like this.

* Remember though, YOU rest in HYMN. He doesn’t Rest in you.

* Did you catch that? It is splitting hairs but when it comes to God it really is an ALL or NOTHING consideration.

* The scribes did not understand these concepts so they were doing the best they could to set out what Jesus was telling them with their personal biases to get through.

* All three (Helen, Bill, and Ken) were only being introduced to the concepts.

* Remember that God is everywhere and everything so you do want to think of HYMN within you whole and complete but first and FOREMOST we are WITHIN HYMN. THIS WOULD BE WHAT MAKES HYMN GOD.

* I know it seems petty but it is significant to your mental alignment being with HYMN.

⁵How can I suffer when love and joy surround me through Him?

⁶Let me not cherish illusions about myself.

* That refers to illusions of you being without God or outside of God. Neither of which could be true in any real way.

* THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST AND THE SON THAT IS ALL THAT IS OR EVER COULD BE.

⁷I am perfect because God goes with me wherever I go.

* Yes, but more clearly you are ‘perfect because all things of God must be so because they are like HYMN. (Male and female in one worthy of worship, IE. HYMN. ~my definition)

2. (42) God is my strength.

* Yes, my EVERYTHING, literally.

²Vision is His gift.

³Let me not look to my own eyes to see today.

* Remember that my own eyes are made up of history and what meaning I have given to anything based on my own ideas or that of others.

⁴Let me be willing to exchange my pitiful illusion of seeing for the vision that is given by God.

⁵Christ’s vision is His gift, and He has given it to me.

* Instead of “Christ’s” this should have read simply “Christ.” Because this who I am and who you are.

⁶Let me call upon this gift today, so that this day may help me to understand eternity.

3. (43) God is my Source.

²I cannot see apart from Him.

* We cannot see anything as it truly IS without HYMN.

³I can see what God wants me to see.

⁴I cannot see anything else.

* Nothing that is REAL anyway.

⁵Beyond His Will lie only illusions.

* Here is how we understand the idea of illusions or dreams, even nightmares that Jesus speaks of in the Urtext of ACIM.

⁶It is these I choose when I think I can see apart from Him.

* Another way to think of illusions or dreams, even nightmares, is STORIES.

* This is what we mean when we say that we are “not our stories.”

⁷It is these I choose when I try to see through the body’s eyes.

⁸Yet the vision of Christ has been given me to replace them.

* Yes! Correctly stated because we ARE a part of Christ.

⁹It is through this vision that I choose to see.

4. (44) God is the light in which I see.

²I cannot see in darkness.

* This does not mean that once you accept the “light or God” that you will not see the dark.

³God is the only light.

* Please, hold onto that idea.

⁴Therefore, if I am to see, it must be through Him.

⁵I have tried to define what seeing is, and I have been wrong.

⁶Now it is given me to understand that God is the light in which I see.

* Put that in front of you like a pair of glasses until you realize that it is ACTUALLY where you are. It is the ONLY LENS that I want to see through.

⁷Let me welcome vision and the happy world it will show me.

* Remember that this “place” resides within you first before it could begin to manifest in “form.”

5. (45) God is the Mind with which I think.

²I have no thoughts I do not share with God.

³I have no thoughts apart from Him, because I have no mind apart from His.

⁴As part of His Mind, my thoughts are His and His Thoughts are mine.

* Now, THIS is TRUE, however, I as His a part of His Son can have incorrect thoughts.

* This is a very important point and helps us remember that we want to be humble and check ourselves through SPIRIT knowing that we are in the process of undoing a very complex and confusing way of existing.

* This is why it is important to listen to others through the SPIRIT so that if Father is trying to reach us through someone else we will hear it.

* This, once we understand it, will make the need to hoard anything obsolete. Including people’s affections. Like those of our children, when a divorce has gotten into the storyline. Or needing to keep our partner from their parents or others.

* Mistakes will happen and they are CORRECTIBLE, some may have to wait till we meet in the afterlife or return for another life where we forgive the belief in separation but they ARE CORRECTIBLE.

* This is why I live in JOY despite the struggles that I have witnessed in my family and others throughout my lifetime. I KNOW THAT THESE CONFUSIONS AND SEPARATIONS ARE ONLY TEMPORARY ILLUSIONS THAT WILL BE ERASED ONE DAY.

* Now, that means that yes, I missed out on those events and the hugs I could have gotten, and they will never return. But the PERFECTION OF THE LOVE THAT IS BETWEEN ME AND ALL ELSE THAT EXISTS BECAUSE GOD IS DOES NOT ALTER ONE BIT BECAUSE OF THE STORIES IN THE ILLUSION OF SEPARATION.

* There are DEBTS of all sorts that will NEVER be paid back because in part, how can you pay back what never occurred. But even within the dynamic of the illusion we are not going to be compensated for all trauma we have put out on one another.

* Does it need to be exposed. Yes. Yes, it does. But not because we want revenge or “got ‘cha last” but because we want to FEEL the betrayal SO FIERCELY that we will be willing to SEE GOD in the place of this chaos we have created for ourselves.

* I think it is fair to say that we have really given ourselves as a country that professes to know God and as a society, race even, such a situation in 2025.
