My thoughts* on A Course in Miracles Workbook Lesson 52, We ARE Delusional

Today’s review covers these ideas:

1. (6) I am upset because I see what is not there.

* This is true, you know. All the BS with family and possible family is just neurotic fear based on the belief in separation from God and forgetting our true identity.

²Reality is never frightening.

* How could it be? It is made up of God.

³It is impossible that it could upset me.

* In REALITY. Now, this does not mean that I do not get to decide what is going on or how things are in my role in the Universal Plan of Salvation that we are each taking part in.

⁴Reality brings only perfect peace.

* And THAT I hold INSIDE ALWAYS.

* Does it get to “come out?”

* INSIDE the space is unlimited. Outside the space is unreal. It is holding my space IN the Peace that comes from the witness of God’s Reality that gives me courage and allows me to continue to “present” in the world of illusion.

* Others feel it and they will miss it when I am not around, but until they choose to see what they ALREADY know a shared experience is unlikely. I am reminded of that scene in Twilight’s “New Moon” where Jacob tells Bella that she ALREADY knows what his secret is and how it would make things SO MUCH EASIER if she would remember.

* It truly is not “our secret” to tell. Each of us must find it within on our own but we do remember and someday EVERY ONE of us will have done so.

⁵When I am upset, it is always because I have replaced reality with illusions I made up.

* Here is something I would hope you could remember. The “I” spoken of in the Course can be taken as Christ as a WHOLE or individually. When it seems like it would take you into a place of guilt it is probably speaking in terms of the WHOLE.

* In ego, and as children, we want to take on the blame for everything.

* Remember that we have seen the error of Christ in believing separation from God was possible, AND FORGIVEN IT THROUGH THE ATONEMENT. This is your only function that makes you the savior that the world needs. Do not forget to include yourself and your storyline in that forgiveness. At least, in so much as you see all error as unreal, and correctible within the illusion. ‘The mistake must be corrected on the level at which it seems to occur.’

* Do not think that you won’t have questions or confusion about how you are to handle any given situation or relationship.

* You will still get to work things out. Even though, YES, Father is Guiding you through SPIRIT. There may be some things that you need to process rather than simply receiving. Not so much as because HE Could not or Would not tell you but so that you are able to gain confidence in your own righteousness. In your own ability to seek after the good for all by the power of God within you.

* This is what you are watching me do as I try to “mingle” with humanity in the mindset of illusion/separation while knowing I am in Heaven and Eternal Life in the Presence of Father.

⁶The illusions are upsetting because I have given them reality, and thus regard reality as an illusion.

* Again, even though I know it is unreal, I will need to work things through so that I gain confidence and maybe to just bide time because SPIRIT and Jesus who orchestrates the “timing of things” knows someone needs just a bit more to get the message Father is trying to deliver through SPIRIT.

⁷Nothing in God’s creation is affected in any way by this confusion of mine.

* YOU have let go of the confusion of separation through the forgiveness of the belief in separation from God.

⁸I am always upset by nothing.

* Thereafter, what bothers you will be the undoing of the entangled thought errors that the ego=god mentality has given the United Consciousness that must be released where it seemed to be manifested, here in the illusion.

2. (7) I see only the past.

* Or, once in the Atonement, what the ego=god mentality has given us to think about to keep us from remembering our EQUALITY, SAFETY, and ABUNDANCE in the Presence of Father.

²As I look about, I condemn the world I look upon.

³I call this seeing.

⁴I hold the past against everyone and everything, making them my enemies.

* Once in the Atonement, we are looking for ways to bring the Love of God into the relationships and situations that we find ourselves in.

⁵When I have forgiven myself and remembered Who I am, I will bless everyone and everything I see.

* But they will not necessarily like this AND we are told that they may even FEAR US because as they are waking up they think of the Light that we are bringing as part of the nightmare they have been experiencing.

⁶There will be no past, and therefore no enemies.

* In truth, because there isn’t any that harms and there are no enemies.

⁷And I will look with love on all that I failed to see before.

* I suspect that we could substitute unity for love in that sentence. We will be able to see Father and Son flowing through each and every person, place, thing, ideology, and situation. A flowing symbiotic relationship without end or division, while still having diversity in expression.

3. ( My mind is preoccupied with past thoughts.

* This is OUTSIDE of the ATONEMENT because within the Atonement you have released the past as being real though in our current linear existence SPIRIT utilizes the past to bring release and healing to the Present.

²I see only my own thoughts, and my mind is preoccupied with the past.

* In the Atonement we are seeing through the Eyes of Father as He Directs us through SPIRIT.

³What, then, can I see as it is?

⁴Let me remember that I look on the past to prevent the present from dawning on my mind.

⁵Let me understand that I am trying to use time against God.

* This way “I/ego” remain in control and in charge of things.

⁶Let me learn to give the past away, realizing that in so doing I am giving up nothing.

* ONLY the Atonement does this. To think we do it on our own is only buying into the ego=god mentality that keeps us locked in our own “utopia” but does not embrace the Whole of Christ Consciousness that we ARE and there is a big difference here.

4. (9) I see nothing as it is now.

* When I see outside of the Vision Father gives me through SPIRIT.

²If I see nothing as it is now, it can truly be said that I see nothing.

³I can see only what is now.

⁴The choice is not whether to see the past or the present; the choice is merely whether to see or not.

* Sight comes from Father through SPIRIT within.

⁵What I have chosen to see has cost me vision.

* It has cost my ability to see God, the One, Original, Universal Creator of All That IS or Ever Could Be.

⁶Now I would choose again, that I may see.

5. (10) My thoughts do not mean anything.

²I have no private thoughts.

³Yet it is only private thoughts of which I am aware.

* Without God’s Vision this is true. After that you will see things that you wish you didn’t but that you must process through the Complete Forgiveness of separation and deal with accordingly.

* I have come to find out that forgiveness in the world means nothing. Unless it is used to build the ego of one and break down another. It is not even a process I think about anymore because I know that GOD IS and that the Son is in a state of confusion because he believes he is separated from Father, others, and himself.

⁴What can these thoughts mean?

⁵They do not exist, and so they mean nothing.

* I do not engage with them anymore. I process through my study of the teachings of Jesus and let SPIRIT direct my thoughts and actions.

⁶Yet my mind is part of creation and part of its Creator.

⁷Would I not rather join the thinking of the universe than to obscure all that is really mine with my pitiful and meaningless “private” thoughts?
