Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.
* You are the Son of God he is speaking to.
1. Today we practice differently, and take a stand against our anger, that our fears may disappear and offer room to love.
* Anger is a response to fear. It is seen more easily in some but we each have it.
²Here is salvation in the simple words in which we practice with today’s idea.
* “Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.”
³Here is the answer to temptation which can never fail to welcome in the Christ where fear and anger had prevailed before.
* “Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.”
⁴Here is Atonement made complete, the world passed safely by and Heaven now restored.
* “Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.”
* Could it get any clearer OR easier? Accepting the Atonement offers you the baptism that begins a whole new existence as Christ along with Jesus.
⁵Here is the answer of the Voice for God.
* “Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.”
2. Complete abstraction is the natural condition of the mind.
* ab·strac·tion **I suggest that this is the definition that Jesus was pointing to for abstraction, “the quality of dealing with ideas rather than events.”
* The events are the world of form. The ideas are living in the witness that God IS and that All That Is or could be is His Son.
* The opposite of abstraction is “fact.”
* The CRIMINAL ego=god mentality DEALs ~ ONLY WITH FACTS and thereby KEEPS YOU AWAY FROM GOD’S GUIDANCE and YOUR OWN JOY, PEACE, HAPPINESS, and EXPERIENCE IN GOD’s Presence.
* IT ~ LITERALLY ~ DENIES YOUR VERY EXISTENCE, by distracting you from ~ your LIFE SOURCE WHICH IS GOD, THE FATHER.
* I have to tell you that there was a horrible criminal event that took recently in a community that I am aware of and it distressed me and my response is to acknowledge that the ego mentality is out to destroy us. That is what Jesus teaches us in this Course. That does not make it sinful. It only makes it impossible because God is truly Who Jesus says He Is, Omnipotent/all powerful, omniscient/all knowing, and omnipresent/everywhere. Nothing real exists outside of God’s Mind and Will.
²But part of it is now unnatural.
* Part of the mind of Christ is now unnatural.
³It does not look on everything as one.
* We must see everything as one to TRULY acknowledge God.
* ONLY through the witness of the Holy Spirit is this doable!!!
⁴It sees instead but fragments of the whole, for only thus could it invent the partial world you see.
* A world that appears to be dark and dangerous.
* Think of the moon and how it is not SEEN without the reflection of the sun.
* Likewise, you have only allowed yourself to see a tiny part of creation without the whole attached and it is in doing this that you have lost “yourself” and the remembrance of God, the Father.
⁵The purpose of all seeing is to show you what you wish to see.
* You must want to see God, Who IS Love, above all else.
* This is what has been talked about when the lessons have referred to Christ’s Vision. Christ is God’s Love personified or acknowledged.
* We have no clue what “we wish to see” in our ego=god state and are subject to being told by others what we wish to see. Think about how lack and fear motivate people to “buy.” That is how “marketing” works in the world.
⁶All hearing but brings to your mind the sounds it wants to hear.
* We hear fear, lack, and attack because the ego of ourselves or others tell us this is what we want.
3. Thus were specifics made. ²And now it is specifics we must use in practicing. ³We give them to the Holy Spirit, that He may employ them for a purpose which is different from the one we gave to them. ⁴Yet He can use but what we made, to teach us from a different point of view, so we can see a different use in everything.
* THIS we will do AS we look to God’s Guidance through the witness of the Holy Spirit.
* The specifics are that which we consider to be “facts” in the world of form and the Holy Spirit helps us use them to bring God back to the Son’s awareness.
* The ego will take facts that come together and then fall like a house of cards or a house built upon the sand because ultimately the ego only takes you to a dream of death.
4. One brother is all brothers.
* We want to see everyone this way.
² Every mind contains all minds, for every mind is one.
* Course students have been known to reverse this and say that there is only one
* One IN God, OF God, AS God.
³Such is the truth.
⁴Yet do these thoughts make clear the meaning of creation?
⁵Do these words bring perfect clarity with them to you?
⁶What can they seem to be but empty sounds; pretty, perhaps, correct in sentiment, yet fundamentally not understood nor understandable.
⁷The mind that taught itself to think specifically can no longer grasp abstraction in the sense that it is all-encompassing.
* Christ believes itself divided and separate and currently denies itself true existence.
⁸We need to see a little, that we learn a lot.
* In allowing the individual, debi, the right to witness the communication of the Father, I am receiving the witness of the Truth of All That Is.
* So convoluted is the mentality of the Son that our ability to focus on the ONE Truth that IS God has been obstructed, or so He thinks.
5. It seems to be the body that we feel limits our freedom, makes us suffer, and at last puts out our life.
²Yet bodies are but symbols for a concrete form of fear.
* The HOLY SPIRIT can also transmute that thinking so that they are representations of the fullness of the Son before the Father.
* MY lover embodies that for me and makes the sexual encounter, AND ALL encounters with him very desirable.
* This is one of the ways that the Holy Spirit translates the chaotic mentality of the Son of God.
* We especially enjoy sharing the experience of nature. I long to teach him how to enjoy the presence of those he deems as ‘bothersome or trouble-makers.’
³Fear without symbols calls for no response, for symbols can stand for the meaningless.
* When we allow the Holy Spirit to transmute what the ‘eyes of the ego=god mentality’ has given us we can have no fear.
⁴Love needs no symbols, being true.
* This IS. It is knowledge.
* In the Garden of Eden, Eve was told she could be like God and have knowledge. Trust me, this was AFTER we had already decided that separation from God was a possibility. In the Garden of Eden, according to written scriptorial legend which some take to be literal and others figurative, the Father came to the Garden looking for Adam and Eve.
* The Father and Son ARE One and ALWAYS have been and EVER SHALL BE ONE.
* Gender was a divisive description given to another part of the same entity to continue the construct of division.
* Anything thereafter became a source of division and produced an increase in fear.
⁵But fear attaches to specifics, being false.
6. Bodies attack, but minds do not.
* HAHAHA! Oh my heck! Be careful here. We are all well aware of mental attacks from everywhere beginning at birth, or conception, really because our mothers (or the care-takers of our Petri dishes) have minds that see us as SEPARATE.
* It is just a blatant FALSEHOOD. IN THE WAY IT IS STATED.
* I suggest that what was being said by Jesus is that ‘specifics,’ or that which we feel are divided from ourselves (or even able to be divided) are able to be attacked.
²This thought is surely reminiscent of our text, where it is often emphasized.
³This is the reason bodies (*specifics) easily become fear’s symbols.
⁴You have many times been urged to look beyond the body (*specifics), for its sight presents the symbol of love’s “enemy” Christ’s vision does not see.
⁵The body (*specifics) is the target for attack, for no one thinks he hates a mind.
* This was written in the 60 and 70s, today 2024 we have MANY sciences and imaginative ideas about how the mind attacks the mind.
* Again, the concept of specifics, as noted in this lesson IS symbolic of separation! Please attempt to grasp this concept. 
It will bring much greater clarity that the simple term “bodies.”
⁶Yet what but mind directs the body to attack?
⁷What else could be the seat of fear except what thinks of fear?
* Even in our minds we have convinced ourselves that we are divisible and destroyable. NLP started us off perhaps in conventional times. Then there is therapeutic hyptnosis, body language, use of language to persuade people to do what you want. The list goes on and on today.
* God’s Reality is what gives us as individuals our Wholeness and Place as a Part of the One and thus the Son.
* Even TIME itself becomes a divider and is a cause of fear both from behind and looking forward. Time itself then, is a specific.
* This is not to say that individuals are not vital in the storyline of the redemption of Christ.
* They must simply understand the PRINCIPLE of NO separation or no “difference” in the specifics.
* In other words, GOD STANDS BEFORE YOU ALWAYS IN WHATEVER FORM THE SON MAY APPEAR.
* This next part is critical and many ‘good people’ think it is okay to claim hate and it is not. No one can know God and know hate. One defies the other.
7. Hate is specific.
²There must be a thing to be attacked.
³An enemy must be perceived in such a form he can be touched and seen and heard, and ultimately killed.
⁴When hatred rests upon a thing, it calls for death as surely as God’s Voice proclaims there is no death.
⁵Fear is insatiable, consuming everything its eyes behold, seeing itself in everything, compelled to turn upon itself and to destroy.
8. Who sees a brother as a body (* as a ‘specific’) sees him as fear’s symbol.
* Do you SEE how the ego=god has used this message in the Course as it uses the term “body” to eliminate our existence instead of showing us the concept of separation that Jesus was attempting to reveal?????
²And he will attack, because what he beholds is his own fear external to himself, poised to attack, and howling to unite with him again.
* See God in everything even as you protect yourself with healthy boundaries in the world that the ego=god mentality has given us.
³Mistake not the intensity of rage projected fear must spawn.
⁴It shrieks in wrath, and claws the air in frantic hope it can reach to its maker and devour him.
* Hate wants death. Period. ~ I know that you do not think so but take a moment to think about that. Do not be afraid to look at who you think you are because God KNOWS who you are and KNOWS that is not you, sweetheart. It’s okay. And if tears fall, let them. And let the idea of hate melt away at the same time.
9. This (*specifics or separation) do the body’s eyes behold in one whom Heaven cherishes, the angels love and God created perfect.
²This (*one whom Heaven cherishes, the angels love and God created perfect) is his reality.
³And in Christ’s vision (*ie. The one that sees God in ALL THINGS and as Himself, the Son of God.) is his loveliness reflected in a form so holy and so beautiful that you could scarce refrain from kneeling at his feet.
⁴Yet you will take his hand instead, for you are like him in the sight that sees him thus.
⁵Attack on him is enemy to you, for you will not perceive that in his hands (*as YOU, for you ARE him through the Will that is Father) is your salvation.
⁶Ask him but for this, and he will give it to you.
⁷Ask him not to symbolize your fear.
⁸Would you request that love destroy itself?
⁹Or would you have it be revealed to you and set you free?
10. Today we practice in a form we have attempted earlier.
²Your readiness is closer now, and you will come today nearer Christ’s vision (*seeing God in all things).
³If you are intent on reaching it, you will succeed today.
⁴And once you have succeeded, you will not be willing to accept the witnesses your body’s eyes call forth.
* You will not be willing to acknowledge separation!
⁵What you will see will sing to you of ancient melodies you will remember.
* Yes.
⁶You are not forgot in Heaven.
⁷Would you not remember it? (*THIS means DO YOU WANT TO REMEMBER IT. DO YOU ~ WANT ~ TO REMEMBER HEAVEN?)
11. Select one brother, symbol of the rest, and ask salvation of him.
* I WILL ASK IT OF MY LOVER.
* WON’T YOU?
²See him first as clearly as you can, in that same form to which you are accustomed.
³See his face, his hands and feet, his clothing.
⁴Watch him smile, and see familiar gestures which he makes so frequently.
⁵Then think of this: What you are seeing now conceals from you the sight of one who can forgive you all your sins; whose sacred hands can take away the nails which pierce your own, and lift the crown of thorns which you have placed upon your bleeding head.
⁶Ask this of him, that he may set you free:
⁷Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.
⁸I would behold you with the eyes of Christ, and see my perfect sinlessness in you.
12. And He (*the Holy Spirit will reveal God to you in His Son upon whom you look) will answer Whom you called upon.
²For He (*the Holy Spirit) will hear the Voice for God in you, and answer in your own.
³Behold him now, whom you have seen as merely flesh and bone, and recognize that Christ (*and God, Himself) has come to you.
⁴Today’s idea is your safe escape from anger and from fear.
⁵Be sure you use it instantly (* rather, CONTINUALLY), should you be tempted to attack a brother and perceive in him the symbol of your fear.
* In this place where ego=god mentality reigns it is impossible not to be tempted this way!
⁶And you will see him suddenly transformed from enemy to savior; from the devil into Christ (*MORE IMPORTANT see him as God.).
* See him as ALL THAT IS, Which is God and the ONLY thing that EITHER of you COULD BE.
* This is what Jesus wants us to do for him. In other words, Jesus is saying, “Give me your blessing, holy Son of God.”
* See God in me. See Christ in me. See me through the eyes of the Forgiveness of the Atonement that undoes the insanity of seeing a world that is separate as real.
