My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 83, for March 23, 2024.

Today let us review these ideas:

1. (65) My only function is the one God gave me.

* To forgive the Son of God and to bring God’s Love back to his remembrance.

* I will manifest this by having healthy boundaries and taking proper care of myself.

* This is after I have extended forgiveness to All That Is or ever could be by forgiving the original belief in separation from God.

²I have no function but the one God gave me.

³This recognition releases me from all conflict, because it means I cannot have conflicting goals.

⁴With one purpose only, I am always certain what to do, what to say and what to think.

⁵All doubt must disappear as I acknowledge that my only function is the one God gave me.

* Do not be hard on yourself if you find that these things do not present themselves easily to you. Make the decision to forgive the original idea of separation from God and the Holy Spirit will be there to guide you out of the mist of confusion the false idea left upon your psyche.

2. More specific applications of this idea might take these forms:

²My perception of this does not change my function.
³This does not give me a function other than the one God gave me.
⁴Let me not use this to justify a function God did not give me.

* In other words, do not let something make up a grievance that I carry that will separate me from God’s Love.

* This rescues me from my mistakes and that of others.

3. (66) My happiness and my function are one.

* Knowing we are all innocent and free as God made us is the cause of our happiness.

²All things that come from God are one.

³They come from Oneness, and must be received as one.

* This strikes me powerfully today. Especially as I begin to interact with people again. I am not stable enough in my understanding to write about it but when I am I will if I am able.

⁴Fulfilling my function is my happiness because both come from the same Source.

⁵And I must learn to recognize what makes me happy, if I would find happiness.

4. Some useful forms for specific applications of this idea are:

²This cannot separate my happiness from my function.
³The oneness of my happiness and my function remains wholly unaffected by this.
⁴Nothing, including this, can justify the illusion of happiness apart from my function.

* These are important to remember as I make my way in the world of form. I am grateful for the reminder.

Till next time, God bless, debi.
