God is in everything I see.
* Absolutely. Even that which I might call uncomfortable or painful. There is a message of the Love of God that I want to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to me.
* That was tough to write out partly because I feel the suffering of the world so strongly and secondly because I know that when I bear witness of what I understand I get to put that to the test in my everyday life and “prove” it to myself so to speak through physical means. It will be interesting to note how this manifests now in the way that I am walking in Spirit.
* I have to admit that I am “hearing” these lessons differently than I have in the past. I trust Father to Guide me through the witness (inner stirrings) of the Holy Spirit.
1. The idea for today explains why you can see all purpose in everything.
²It explains why nothing is separate, by itself or in itself.
³And it explains why nothing you see means anything.
⁴In fact, it explains every idea we have used thus far, and all subsequent ones as well.
⁵Today’s idea is the whole basis for vision.
* “God is in everything I see,” yet God, myself, and all that I see have been taught to be “not there” by those who thought they understood the Course. Hmm.
2. You will probably find this idea very difficult to grasp at this point. ²You may find it silly, irreverent, senseless, funny and even objectionable. ³Certainly God is not in a table, for example, as you see it.
* AS you and I see it.
⁴Yet we emphasized yesterday that a table shares the purpose of the universe. ⁵And what shares the purpose of the universe shares the purpose of its Creator.
* Could it be “To bring about the JOY and Eternal Life of Man” as stated in the Bible? Expanded here by Jesus in the Course to bring about the Joy and Eternal Life of The Son of God AS All That IS?!!
3. Try then, today, to begin to learn how to look on all things with love, appreciation and open-mindedness.
* All things.
* ALL things? What about what is on the news and the chaos that I see in my own neighborhood and life? Yep, ALL THINGS is how I would take this.
* I am not going to give it the automatic “that is part of the illusion and confusion that is in a tiny part of the Mind of Christ” that I have given it before.
* I am going to say “I do not know the meaning of this” and allow the Holy Spirit to move through me as I engage with existence knowing that it will be done from a place of love no matter how it presents itself.
²You do not see them now.
* Think about this.
* Because of the prejudiced ideas that we have about things because we have collected data from the past we do not see what is before us but our ideas of assumed experience from times before.
* On some level this may even include previous and future lifetimes.
* Remember, linear time itself is part of the confusion of the mind of Christ at this, um, time.
³Would you know what is in them?
⁴Nothing is as it appears to you.
⁵Its holy purpose stands beyond your little range.
⁶When vision has shown you the holiness that lights up the world, you will understand today’s idea perfectly. ⁷And you will not understand how you could ever have found it difficult.
* Hear this promise and claim it.
4. Our six two-minute practice periods for today should follow a now familiar pattern: Begin with repeating the idea to yourself, and then apply it to randomly chosen subjects about you, naming each one specifically. ²Try to avoid the tendency toward self-directed selection, which may be particularly tempting in connection with today’s idea because of its wholly alien nature. ³Remember that any order you impose is equally alien to reality.
5. Your list of subjects should therefore be as free of self-selection as possible. ²For example, a suitable list might include:
³God is in this coat hanger.
⁴God is in this magazine.
⁵God is in this finger.
⁶God is in this lamp.
⁷God is in that body.
⁸God is in that door.
⁹God is in that waste basket.
¹⁰In addition to the assigned practice periods, repeat the idea for today at least once an hour, looking slowly about you as you say the words unhurriedly to yourself. ¹¹At least once or twice, you should experience a sense of restfulness as you do this.
* For those who are walking in Spirit with forgiveness in their heart for the idea of belief in separation from God in the Atonement, consider looking at the horrors that you see in the world and say “I do not know what this is for,” and “God is in that …” I will not put words of form there because I do not wish to hurt the feelings of those not ready to go there but I am going to apply it to all that I see and any form of harm or suffering as well because I KNOW that God IS and there is nothing real that does not embody His Love and Devotion to His Son, part of Whom I AM. And because I am committed to bringing Heaven to Earth in as much as I am able.
