This one may seem very controversial. lol, what else is new? hehe

~ Photo of an avalanche. Reminds me of life in egoland. ~
I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.
* True that BUT we are ONE so that means that you also get hurt by the thoughts of everyone else.
* Think about that for a minute.
* Not too cool, huh?!!
* Other’s thoughts are manifested in egoland BUT we KNOW that what happens in egoland is not real because God IS REAL.
* This does not take the pain or discomfort away but it does take the sting out of it and you can endure and cope with it.
* I live with this reality daily and it can HURT deeply when the Holy Spirit decides I am ready to “see or hear” what others are doing around me from their fearful state in ego-mind that I really would rather not “see or hear.”
1. Father, Your Son is perfect.
* This is true. But remember that we are learning to accept ourselves as the Body of the Son of God. Until then, we will see a whole lot of ego stuff that we would rather not and we MUST understand that it is FORGIVEN.
* NOT because it is not harmful but because God is REAL and that which is not of Him is NOT real.
²When I think that I am hurt in any way, it is because I have forgotten who I am, and that I am as You created me.
* Okay, I already covered this but let’s review.
* IT IS NOT REAL, but it FEELS REAL and that needs to be acknowledged and accommodated for. We are not all awakened yet, so we must walk in egoland and be aware of WHERE we ARE within the dream state of the Son of God.
* Why did Helen and Bill not tell us about this? Because Helen and Bill did not allow that God is REAL, or that Jesus is, or even that they are. Which means that the Course was allowed to be taught as if NOTHING IS REAL for 45 years.
³Your Thoughts can only bring me happiness.
* “Your Thoughts” refer to God’s First Thought which was His Son. The Son thought Himself to be separated, not only from God but from Himself. So much so, that each of us has a Soul, or identity, that is, IN FACT, part of the Mind of Christ.
* That which we are IS capable of BELIEVING that we can hurt others and that we have been hurt by others, even though it is IMPOSSIBLE because the only THING or TYPE OF THING that EXISTS is like God, Himself.
* THAT is a key point that Christianity has convoluted in such a way that they do not even accept their own doctrine that says that God is OMNIPOTENT (ALL POWERFUL), OMNISCIENT (ALL KNOWING), and OMNI-PRESENT (EVERYWHERE). As such, only God could be real and only His Will could be real.
* That said, yes, God’s Thoughts can only bring me happiness. BUT until the entire Sonship accepts the fact that God IS Really REAL it can appear and feel otherwise.
⁴If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are.
* When these things occur, I remember that there is a Universal Plan that is being played out in which the Holy Spirit is helping us calm the ego and be able to endure the recognition of the pain and suffering that we are causing ourselves and one another so that we will be willing to once more turn to God, the Father.
* “Universal Plan” and “Plan of Atonement” are terms that are used in the Urtext only a time or two in the one that I study. (2005 online by Hungary)
* I do not have ANYTHING to feel guilty about as this suggests: “…I have forgotten what You think, and put my little meaningless ideas in place of where Your Thoughts belong, and where they are.”
* NO. That comes from the ATTITUDE of the scribes and not from Jesus.
* Jesus would have expressed it this way. “If ever I am sad or hurt or ill, I want to remember that it is the result of the ego mentality that was established when Christ had the first thought of the possibility of separation from God, and put meaningless ideas in place of where Your Son belongs, and where He is.”
* Those new to the Course or unfamiliar with its over-arching teachings will be very confused by this. Especially since Christ is often referred to as outside ourselves, while at the same time telling us (eventually) that Christ is Who we are. It is a TRUTH processed by a mind in “ego” that insists on making something simple difficult by the way it was written.
⁵I can be hurt by nothing but my thoughts.
* I cannot even be hurt by my thoughts!!!!!
* Because my thoughts must be the thoughts that I think with God.
* NOT in REALITY. But, I can THINK that I have been hurt, or believe I have been hurt, because I have been given life and liberty by God, Himself to think FOR myself, EVEN as I use His power to do so.
⁶The Thoughts I think with You can only bless.
* In this circumstance, I do NOT believe that thoughts should be capitalized. That would make it something else. Here is an instance of the lack of understanding on behalf of the scribes of what is referring to God Himself and what is referring to the Christ who is being awakened. Throughout the Course material this can be seen as evidenced by the use or lack of use in capitalization.
⁷The Thoughts I think with You alone are true.
* Rather than rephrasing this let me tell you how we think our thoughts with God.
* This would be by allowing the Holy Spirit to be our eyes and ears, as well as our guide in thought and action.
* This is where the concept of “I know nothing” comes from in the Course. However, once we have accepted the complete and true atoning/undoing forgiveness of the Atonement and acknowledged God, the Father, and His Son we are able to have the Holy Spirit guide us and then we know what we know because we know from Whom the witness and knowledge come.
2. I will not hurt myself today.
* Only by accepting the Atonement as described above is this possible.
²For I am far beyond all pain.
* True. However, I must release myself, personally, and the Whole of Christ from the idea of separation from God as ever having been possible.
* Without the Atonement PAIN is my identity and nightmare.
³My Father placed me safe in Heaven, watching over me.
* Note the way that this is stated. It is misleading as written and reflects the Biblical or traditional attitudes regarding Heaven and God, the Father.
* “³My Father placed me safe in Heaven, watching over me.”
* I am safely in Heaven where my Father provides for all that I need.
* The two may seem to be the same but the subtle difference is enormous.
* Heaven is within the Mind of God and allows no separation at all, whereas the other statement suggests separate entities (Father, Heaven, and me).
* This has been a huge error on behalf of the disciples and scribes of Jesus throughout time as we understand it.
* How can I, debi, suggest that I know something that has tripped up over the ages?
* Because I have accepted the Atonement and the Guidance of the Holy Spirit and I have the witness of Truth within me that you are also capable of receiving.
⁴And I would not attack the Son He loves, for what He loves is also mine to love.
* Here it sounds as if the Son is outside of myself which Jesus clearly states in the Course is who we each are a part of and is ourselves.
* This may be one you want to read through a few times and let it sit with you as you as the Holy Spirit within about the truthfulness of my words.
* Even if you do not believe in the Holy Spirit or have not accepted the Atonement yet, He is within you and will respond if you are willing to hear. It is often with a sense of calm and peace that He speaks. Over time you will become comfortable knowing when it is Him “saying” something and when it is yourself or ego.
* Peace.
