My thoughts* on ACIM Urtext Lesson 280 for 7 October 2023. I Need to Own Up to My Perception of Reality

What limits can I lay upon God’s Son?

* I love what someone said about how a seed grows and there is no judgment on any stage of growth for that seed to say it is “wrong.” We are each like the seed growing and expressing in our own way.

Where we are right now is okay.

* “So what” if mom (me) doesn’t like how things are going? That is her (my) story and you (my kids) do not need to take it on (any more than I need to take on their angst about me). BUT: she/they might need to “be” where she/they is/are at for this particular moment, for reasons you/I/they do not understand.

* The same goes for “where” you are.

* I want to free myself so that I can “BE” and allow others the same dignity without judgment or getting my feelings hurt. Seeing the confusion as a “story” I do not have to get attached to helps me at this time.

1. Whom God created limitless is free.

²I can invent imprisonment for him, but only in illusions, not in truth.

* Thank goodness for both of these realities!

³No Thought of God has left its Father’s Mind.

⁴No Thought of God is limited at all.

⁵No Thought of God but is forever pure.

* These three are things that we can COUNT ON.

* ANYTHING outside of these are unreal, in a REAL SENSE.

* That is YOU and ME. We are the Son of God, His Thought. Oh my, … spirit chills!

⁶Can I lay limits on the Son of God, whose Father willed that he be limitless, and like Himself in freedom and in love?

* I am tempted in my ego-state of mind to begrudge my circumstances or presumed lack in the present moment of things and persons I believe I would enjoy in my life, and THAT even WHILE I stand in the complete witness of the Atonement and its forgiving fullness. But remember, just because we have accepted the atoning forgiveness for the belief in separation from God does not mean that we get to see the consequences of that erased immediately or that we can clear our minds of mental traps and convoluted ideas that still align with the belief in separation from God and each other.

* I want to have patience with myself in this process and with others. We WILL ALL GET THERE. THAT IS A FACT. We just want to accept the atoning forgiveness and then have patience with ourselves, and each other, as we transition through this egoland façade that we have manifested.

2. Today let me give honor to Your Son, for thus alone I find the way to You.

²Father, I lay no limits on the Son You love and You created limitless.

³The honor that I give to him is Yours, and what is Yours belongs to me as well.

* The wording on this last statement is significant. “The honor that I give to him is Yours,” says that “what I express is God’s expression in truth.” There is a lot of power and depth in that statement.

* This is really becoming clearer to me all the time. What I express is God’s expression. It is like I am a witness that allows God’s expression to be manifested in me. THIS is what it can mean “experientially” to be God’s Son.

* This is a very powerful mental construct that can be used as a cruel weapon in the hands of the ego.

* However, when witnessed from inside the full forgiveness of the Atonement, that puts God into the picture WITH His Son, it is starting to fill up in me like a tiny stream that will turn into a raging river once I gain greater confidence and acceptance of following the instructions of the Holy Spirit.

* Wow, I just got spirit bumps from head to toe.
